Components

  • 1 box Cinnamon Swirl Cake Mix
  • 2 Eggs
  • ½ cup Milk
  • Cooking Spray

Directions

  • In a mixing bowl, blend 1 box Cinnamon Swirl Cake Mix, 2 Eggs, and ½ cup Milk. Mix until fully combined. It may remain slightly chunky and that is acceptable.

  • Incorporate the cinnamon mixture from the cake mix. You can add either a lot or a little of the mixture as you prefer. I generally use only half.

  • Preheat the waffle maker and coat it with Cooking Spray. When the appliance is heated, pour the waffle batter into the maker and close the lid.

  • Once cooking is completed, extract the waffles, spray once more with cooking oil, and add further batter into the heated device. Continue until there’s no batter left. Depending on the dimensions of your waffle iron, it should yield between 8-12 waffles.

Glaze (optional)

  • Sugar glaze enhances the flavor of these waffles! Obtain my Glaze Recipe here.

You can adorn it with maple syrup, or I prefer to drizzle a sugar glaze crafted from powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. It is entirely discretionary, but oh, it’s delightful!

How to Store Leftovers

Remaining homemade waffles preserve exceptionally well, rendering them ideal for pre-prepared breakfasts.

In the Refrigerator

Allow the waffles to cool entirely, then keep them in an airtight container or zip-top bag. They will remain in the fridge for 2 to 3 days.

In the Freezer

After cooling, arrange waffles in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze until solid. Move them to a freezer bag or an airtight container with parchment paper in between layers.

Homemade frozen waffles maintain quality for up to 2 months in the freezer.

Reheating Suggestions

This renders homemade waffles just as convenient to grab as those purchased from stores!

  • A toaster or toaster oven is best for achieving crisp edges
  • Bake at 350º until heated through for larger quantities
  • Steer clear of the microwave if crispiness is desired, as it softens them
