Confetti Bowl

Have you ever utilized confetti in your crafts before? We’ve attempted a tray, candle holders, and even footwear (I know; they’re so delightful!).

If there’s a single project that a crafter must experience in their lifetime, it’s a confetti bowl. Here are three reasons why:

  • Simple to create
  • Enjoyable to make
  • Adorable

Which essentially sums up the criteria for any project I undertake. Not that I don’t occasionally desire a more advanced craft, but with limited time, straightforward crafts are generally the most attractive.

Is it enjoyable to craft? Are the outcomes adorable? Those are additional queries I ponder regarding what I create, and I’m certain (even without knowing) you contemplate the same.

As I mentioned, this confetti bowl satisfies all the criteria! Anyone can craft it, and I truly mean anyone. It’s an uncomplicated project for both children and adults. V Juliet crafted this bowl with her kids, and they even popped the balloon for her.

Which I completely admire because I too would appreciate someone popping the balloon for me. And opening the Pillsbury dough container. You know?? Loud noises make me anxious. 😮

There are three straightforward steps to this DIY confetti balloon bowl, and let me share them with you now. You’re going to: 1) Inflate a balloon; 2) Apply Mod Podge to affix the confetti on the bowl and allow it to dry; 3) Pop the balloon and trim.

Oh, and you can personalize it with any confetti color. How about black and orange for Halloween? Green and red for Christmas?? Did I mention that you can also acquire the supplies from Dollar Tree?

I believe you’re convinced by now, so let’s dive into this balloon bowl DIY. I know you’re prepared for this fabulous party craft. Continue reading!

  • Inflate the balloon, then place it onto a vase or cup (as a stand) for easier handling.

  • Apply Mod Podge to the upper half of the balloon using a sponge brush, then scatter confetti all over. Detach the balloon from the vase and hold it to spread confetti on the sides.

  • Allow to dry and apply another layer of glue and confetti. Repeat. When you believe the confetti is thick enough, allow it to dry one final time.

  • Add several layers of Mod Podge until a thick coat is achieved (approximately 3 – 4 layers; this is for stability). Let dry for 8 – 10 hours.

  • Rotate your balloon and pop it with a needle; I couldn’t do this due to my fear of the noise. Get someone to assist if necessary.

  • Trim the edges with scissors for an even finish. If you need to touch it up with Mod Podge, do so at this stage and allow to dry.
